The MX-5 was conceived as a small – with light weight and minimal mechanical complexity limited only by legal and safety requirements; technologically modern, but a philosophically direct descendant of the small British roadsters of the 1960s such as the , , and mainly the .The second generation MX-5 (NB) was launched in 1998 and the current (NC) model has been in production since 2006. It continues to be the best-selling two-seat convertible sports car in history and by February 2011 over 900,000 MX-5s had been built and sold around the world

The Low Country Miata Club was founded in 1991 by John Sheppard under charter from MCA with sponsorship from Rick Hendrix Mazda of Charleston as a way to get to know fellow Miata MX5 lovers in the Charleston area. We currently have 85 active members representing 59 Miatas.

We meet on the 1st Thurday of the month at Stokes Mazda in North Charleston for a business meeting followed by dinner at a local restraunt Annual dues are $24 a year per membership for both individuals and families. Memberships are per calendar year (Jan-Dec), the club dues will be prorated if you decide to join mid-year.

MORE INFORMATION ON THE BEAUFORT RUN 

SATURDAY MAY 2


Meeting at Hardee's in Ravenel (Hwy. 17 and 165) around 8am for breakfast......we will leave at 8:45am

Quick stop at Jeff and Barbara Grigg's house at Hwy. 17 and 303 near Green Pond.

Jeff will lead us on some back roads to the Old Sheldon Church ruins

Drive to Beaufort and park at Tabernacle Baptist Church (on Charles St., between Craven and North), walk to marina (less than 2 blocks).

11am: Leisurely paced 2 hour private walking tour with Janet ($20 pp). 

1pm: lunch and shopping on your own.  Taste of Beaufort ongoing

Around 3pm: drive to Hunting Island Lighthouse and beach walk ($5 pp)

Back to Beaufort or home
