The MX-5 was conceived as a small – with light weight and minimal mechanical complexity limited only by legal and safety requirements; technologically modern, but a philosophically direct descendant of the small British roadsters of the 1960s such as the , , and mainly the .The second generation MX-5 (NB) was launched in 1998 and the current (NC) model has been in production since 2006. It continues to be the best-selling two-seat convertible sports car in history and by February 2011 over 900,000 MX-5s had been built and sold around the world
The Low Country Miata Club was founded in 1991 by John Sheppard under charter from MCA with sponsorship from Rick Hendrix Mazda of Charleston as a way to get to know fellow Miata MX5 lovers in the Charleston area. We currently have 85 active members representing 59 Miatas.
We meet on the 1st Thurday of the month at Stokes Mazda in North Charleston for a business meeting followed by dinner at a local restraunt Annual dues are $24 a year per membership for both individuals and families. Memberships are per calendar year (Jan-Dec), the club dues will be prorated if you decide to join mid-year.

Meeting at the Ravenel Hardees (Hwy 17/165) around 7:45 am and leaving at 8am. Short stop at the McDonalds in Point South.
Cruising old 17 to Hwys 462/170/315 and back on 17 to Savannah's visitor center, parking may cost a few $ after the first hour
Private 90 min non stop trolley tour of Savannah at 10:30 at $ 16.05pp if we get 20+ (max. 35) attending. You will have access to on/off services after the tour at no additional cost until 5:30.

Free to sightsee/ shop until check-in at The Inn on Ellis Square after 4pm. I have reserved a block of 17 rooms @ $ 149.00 +taxes (approx. $170). This is about $40 per night less than their regular rate. If you can find a better price, go for it. PLEASE let me know once you have reserved your room so I can keep track of the numbers. There is a parking garage adjacent at $13 per day, and the parking is TIGHT in the area. Parking can be registered before check-in and is good through 4pm the next day with in/out ac cess.
Probably a social hour in the lobby (or elsewhere) and then walk over to Kevin Barry's for supper and entertainment by Carroll Brown around 7:30. Good craic for the rest of the evening.
Breakfast provided at the Inn Sunday morning.
A private group tour of Old Fort Jackson on Sunday at 10am which is less than 10 min. away. Cannon demonstrations! costs $6pp for entrance.

MIATAS AT MYRTLE BEACH MARCH 27-30
Organized by the Tri-Cities and Grand Strand Miata clubs this is a multi-club multi-state get together in Myrtle Beach. Events include: raffle, Poker Run, Putt Putt Tournament, Wine-Beer Swap, Plantation Run, Autocross, Laps at Myrtle Beach Speedway, and more.
