The MX-5 was conceived as a small – with light weight and minimal mechanical complexity limited only by legal and safety requirements; technologically modern, but a philosophically direct descendant of the small British roadsters of the 1960s such as the , , and mainly the .The second generation MX-5 (NB) was launched in 1998 and the current (NC) model has been in production since 2006. It continues to be the best-selling two-seat convertible sports car in history and by February 2011 over 900,000 MX-5s had been built and sold around the world

The Low Country Miata Club was founded in 1991 by John Sheppard under charter from MCA with sponsorship from Rick Hendrix Mazda of Charleston as a way to get to know fellow Miata MX5 lovers in the Charleston area. We currently have 85 active members representing 59 Miatas.

We meet on the 1st Thurday of the month at Stokes Mazda in North Charleston for a business meeting followed by dinner at a local restraunt Annual dues are $24 a year per membership for both individuals and families. Memberships are per calendar year (Jan-Dec), the club dues will be prorated if you decide to join mid-year.

The Center for Birds of Prey offers visitors a unique insight into the lives and impressive adaptations of more than 40 species of birds of prey including eagles, hawks, owls, falcons, kites and vultures.   During the guided walking tour, Center educators will introduce participants to birds of prey from all over the world, sharing unique characteristics and adaptations, as well as conservation challenges impacting each species. The program concludes with a compelling raptor flight demonstration

After Tour & Demonstration LUNCH at SeeWee Restaurant (BOTH HAVE EXCELLENT REVIEWS)

  • 9:15-9:45        BREAKFAST / MEET @ BURGER KING HWY 17 MT PLEASANT (Just before Mt. Pleasant Town Center on right going north – Market Center Drive)  
  • 9:45-10:00      DRIVE TO BIRDS OF PREY  (15 miles on right)
  • 10:30-11:30     TOUR
  • 11:30-12:30     FLIGHT DEMONSTRATION
  • 1:00-2:00        LUNCH @ SEWEE RESTAURANT on HWY 17
  • 2:00-5:00        RETURN TO BIRDS OF PREY AT MEMBER OPTION (free re-entry)
